Dylan Breen Gaining Valuable Experience Following DIRTcar Sportsman Tour; Looking Ahead to Applefest Weekend and Super DIRT Week

The 2012 racing season didn’t go according to plan for Dylan Breen as several problems plagued the team throughout the season.  However, with a new chassis, and a new outlook towards the end of the year, Breen has been following the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series and is looking to gain some valuable experience towards the 2013 season.

Just a couple weeks ago, Breen attended the DIRTcar Sportsman Series races at Ransomville Speedway, Merrittville Speedway and Humberstone Speedway.  All three were tracks that Breen had never even seen before, let alone raced at.  Although he was unable to qualify, the experience that they gained made the trip worthwhile, and will have setup information to fall back on when they make the trip next season with the Sportsman Series.

This past weekend, the DIRTcar Sportsman tour continued at Mohawk International Raceway in Hogansburg, New York.  A tough field of nearly 40 Sportsman cars were in action once again, but this time Breen was able to make the show.  The end result was a 19th place finish on a very slick race track that had became one lane and tough to pass.

“We are learning, and getting better each time we are on the track”, says Breen.  “It has been a tough season, but our goal now towards the end of the season is to qualify for these races and keep learning as much as we can and build on it for next season”.

Breen will be at Brighton Speedway for their annual Applefest events on Friday night.  This will be the next round of the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series.  After Brighton, the team will prepare for their first ever appearance at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse for Super DIRT Week beginning on October 3rd and going through October 6th for the Syracuse Sportsman Championship race.  Breen will run the Sportsman Futures race at the Fairgrounds as well on the Thursday of Super DIRT Week. The 2012 season will conclude on Sunday, October 14th at Brockville Speedway as part of the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

Dylan Breen would like to thank all of the sponsors for their support for the 2012 racing season.  These sponsors are AME Environmental, Backyard Fence & Deck, Gananoque Chev Olds, Upper Level Doors, Blueman Coatings, J.T. Dylan Breen Matches Best Career Finish With Sixth Place Result at Can Am Motorsports Park; DIRTcar Sportsman Series Events Up Next

The 2012 racing season has been filled with adversity for Dylan Breen and his team. Mechanical issues, hard crashes, and a destroyed racecar have limited their racing schedule in 2012. The last couple weeks though, Breen has found a Saturday night home at Can Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, New York and are looking ahead to next weekend’s three race swing with the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series at Ransomville Speedway, Merrittville Speedway and Humberstone Speedway.

This past Saturday night, Breen made the trip back to Can Am Motorsports Park. After setting the fourth fastest time in opening practice, he backed that up with a solid third place run in his eight lap qualifying heat and finished sixth in the feature, improving on their 11th place finish the previous week.

The team will now prepare for competition with the ultra-competitive Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series as they make the trip along Lake Ontario to the Niagara region with events at Ransomville Speedway in New York on Friday, September 7th, and then back into Ontario for events at Merrittville Speedway on September 8th and Humberstone Speedway on September 9th.

“We are pretty excited about traveling to new tracks here next week”, says Breen. “It is always fun to visit a new race track, and race with the DIRTcar Sportsman series. It will be tough, but it should be a great learning experience for all of us”.

The rest of the 2012 schedule for Breen will include Brighton Speedway on September 21st and Brockville for the Fall Nationals on October 14th. Stay tuned to our website for updated schedule and race results throughout the remainder of the 2012 season.

Dylan Breen to Return to Brockville Speedway After Two Week Absence

After damaging their car in a crash at Brockville Speedway just two weeks ago, Dylan Breen and his team have been working hard back in their shop getting their recently purchased 2012 TEO car in race condition.

The car was picked up last week at the TEO shop in New Jersey, and the team has been stripping parts of the damaged car to bolt on to the new one.  Breen hopes to be back in action this coming Saturday night at Brockville Speedway.

“We had a pretty hard crash here at Brockville two weeks ago, and we thought we had it all fixed, only to find out that the rear clip was bent.  We were going to get the car down to TEO and have them put a rear clip on it, but we ended up getting a great deal on a 2012 chassis and we decided to go that route”, says Breen.

In four events this season, Breen has had some bad luck with motor problems, and a crash that damaged the car, but he also had his career best sixth place finish earlier this year, and will be looking to return to form quickly with the new car.  Breen plans to run the rest of the season at Brockville, and possibly the Sportsman Mr. DIRTcar Series race at Cornwall in July.

“We want to race as much as we can, but we will see how it goes over the next few weeks”, says Breen, referring to the Sportsman tour race at Cornwall.  “It has been a tough season, but we will continue to fight the battle, and keep learning”.

Dylan Breen would like to thank all of the sponsors for their support for the 2012 racing season.  These sponsors are AME Environmental, Backyard Fence & Deck, Gananoque Chev Olds, Upper Level Doors, Blueman Coatings, J.T. Hoekstra Construction, Larson Construction, Wallace Beef, Number One Speed Shock Service, Atomic Sign Works and Finish Line Web Design.

Dylan Breen Learning the Ropes of DIRTcar Sportsman Competition; Unveils New Website From Finish Line Web Design

Starting his third year in racing, Dylan Breen has experienced some good moments, and has also had more than his fair share of bad luck, but the team has worked hard on their program this season, and the results are starting to show.  While bad luck, and being in the right place at the wrong time has hindered their overall success, Breen has been able to capture his career best sixth place finish just a couple weeks ago at Brockville Speedway.

Being relatively new to the sport, Breen has had some struggles along the way, but he and his team continue to work hard to achieve there racing goals.  Like many teams just starting out, it takes time to find the magic setup that works well for the driver.

In an effort to recognize their sponsors, and to share their moments at the track with photos, news, and race results, Breen is very excited about the launch of their new website from Finish Line Web Design.  With links the their sponsors own websites, and information about the team and current results and schedule, it will be a regular stop for race fans to get up to date information on Breen and the race team.

After a tough night at Brockville this past weekend, Breen is looking forward to returning this coming Saturday night to gain more valuable on track experience in their quest to become one of the elite Sportsman teams in this area.
