It has been a good start to the 2013 season for Dylan Breen, and this recent string of bad luck over the past two weeks will not keep the team down as they look ahead to the upcoming weekend. The car has been fast with each outing, and despite the bad luck, optimism remains high during this breakout season.
The bad luck started at Brockville during the second week of the year. It was a 40 lap race and first round of the Seaway Sportsman Series. Breen led the race early, and was well in contention late in the race an unexpected issue with the right front wheel sent him off the track. Although frustrated with the final outcome, the team was thrilled with their overall performance with many of the region’s top Sportsman drivers in attendance.
This past Saturday night at Brockville, Breen started his qualifying heat race from the eighth position and moved up two spots to sixth in the 8 lap preliminary qualifying event. In the 25 lap feature, he started from the 14th position, and was biding his time through the opening laps. On lap seven, Breen was caught up in crash in turn one. Dylan was able to recover after restarting the race from the rear of the field, and finished the race in 15th place. After three weeks of racing at Brockville, he currently sits fifth in track points for the Sportsman division.
This coming Saturday night, Dylan will return to the Brockville Speedway for the first of three 40 lap races in the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series.
